Her Story

Meet Anita D'Onghia

Anita D’Onghia has been practising as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) since 2019, with a deep interest in understanding the human body, its interconnected systems, and the many factors that contribute to health and well-being. She began incorporating CranioSacral Therapy into her practice in 2020 and became a Certified CranioSacral Therapist through the Upledger Institute in 2024. She continues to pursue further education and coursework through the Institute, deepening her knowledge and developing her approach to CranioSacral Therapy within her massage therapy practice.

For over 20 years, Anita has been studying and exploring the many dimensions of health and wellness. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa and graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. Her educational journey has also included studies in Reiki, massage therapy, and CranioSacral Therapy, each contributing to her understanding of the body from different perspectives.

Anita’s diverse educational background has fostered a lasting curiosity about the relationship between the body’s systems, its structure and function, and overall well-being. She brings this knowledge into her practice with an appreciation for the complexity of the human body and the individuality of each person.

CranioSacral Therapy and Areas of Interest

CranioSacral Therapy currently represents approximately half of Anita’s practice and continues to be an area of particular interest and professional development. She is drawn to its gentle, hands-on approach and the opportunity it provides to work attentively with each individual.

Through her experience as an RMT, Anita has worked with clients experiencing a variety of concerns, including headaches and migraines, neck and back discomfort, jaw tension and TMJ-related discomfort, concussion history and related concerns, sleep disturbances, fibromyalgia and persistent pain, stress, anxiety, burnout, and trauma-related concerns, including PTSD.

These experiences have deepened her interest in individualized hands-on care and in understanding the different ways people experience tension, discomfort, and challenges to their overall well-being. Each client brings a unique history, set of needs, and treatment goals, which Anita takes into consideration when planning an appropriate session.

Anita continues to pursue further education in CranioSacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute, with the goal of making it the primary focus of her massage therapy practice. She hopes to develop a full practice centred on CranioSacral Therapy within her role as a Registered Massage Therapist, while continuing to provide thoughtful, individualized care within her professional scope of practice.

An Individualized Approach to Care

At the heart of Anita’s practice is the belief that each person deserves an individualized approach to care. She takes the time to understand her clients’ needs, experiences, comfort levels, and treatment goals, tailoring each session to the individual. Her intention is to create a supportive and attentive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and comfortable throughout their treatment.

Beyond her clinical practice, Anita remains committed to lifelong learning and exploring the many dimensions of health and wellness. Guided by curiosity, compassion, and an appreciation for the beauty in the world around her, she continues to deepen her understanding of the human body and bring that knowledge into her work with each client.
